Yvonne Jegede recently called out media personality Nedu Wazobia on Instagram, responding to his comments following her public apology for statements made on The Honest Bunch Podcast. In a post dated June 13, 2024, Jegede uploaded a photo of Nedu and criticized him for his reaction to her apology, particularly towards actress May Edochie and women in general.
In her Instagram post, Jegede labeled Nedu as narcissistic and toxic, accusing him of being unable to understand the significance of apologizing when others feel hurt by one’s actions, regardless of personal beliefs. She went on to allege that Nedu promotes negative narratives about women and does not support their success. Jegede also criticized Nedu for allegedly failing to promote her movie “A Father’s Love” during her appearance on his podcast, despite expressing personal admiration for her.
Jegede’s criticism extended to Nedu’s character, suggesting he rejoices in seeing women attacked or diminished. She challenged him directly, asserting that supporting women’s achievements does not diminish men in any way. Jegede concluded her post by defending her decision to apologize publicly, stating it was necessary after realizing her words had hurt others, including May Edochie.
This public spat between Jegede and Nedu arose after Jegede’s initial appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where she commented on Yul Edochie’s decision to marry Judy Austin as a second wife to May Edochie. Her subsequent apology aimed to clarify her intent and express regret for any offense caused.
Nedu’s response on social media, urging individuals to stand by their words, seems to have further fueled Jegede’s critique of his attitudes towards women and her perception of his public stance on the matter.
