Toyosi Etim-Effiong, the CEO of Good Media, has voiced her belief that Nigeria’s size is insufficient to fully contain the potential of Nollywood. In a recent interview with Nollywire at the Nile Entertainment Group launch, she emphasized the need for Nollywood to expand globally.
Etim-Effiong expressed optimism about the future of Nollywood, particularly with the launch of Nile Entertainment, a new venture by Moses Babatope and Mo Abudu. She highlighted the significance of increased opportunities and better remuneration for talent in the industry.
“I’m looking forward to talents being remunerated even better. I believe that competition will help that. Let’s get more money in people’s pockets,” she said.
She also discussed her collaboration with Essence to promote Nollywood internationally, stating, “Nigeria alone cannot contain the reach of Nollywood. We just need to do more marketing.” She believes that with Nile Entertainment’s initiatives, Nollywood can achieve greater global recognition and rewards.
Etim-Effiong’s comments reflect a growing sentiment within the industry about the need for more international marketing and recognition for Nigerian films.
