President Bola Tinubu has directed the resignation of Mamman Ahmadu from his position as Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). This decision is part of a broader effort to reorganize the public procurement system aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, issued a statement on Saturday confirming the directive. According to the statement, Ahmadu is required to hand over to the most senior officer in the Bureau until a new Director-General is appointed.
In expressing gratitude for Ahmadu’s service, President Tinubu thanked him and wished him success in his future endeavors. This move underscores the administration’s commitment to improving governance and accountability within public procurement processes.
