Nollywood actor Kevin Ikeduba has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the film industry, criticizing it for its insincerity and lack of genuine affection.

The talented actor highlighted how the industry is saturated with individuals portraying false personas, pretending to be something they are not. Although he refrained from naming specific individuals, he emphasized that the industry harbors some of the most insincere individuals who struggle to exhibit genuine affection towards one another.

In a resurfaced video clip, he remarked on the prevalence of fake personas among actors and actresses, urging them to alter their behavior.

“It’s a fact, I can’t help but laugh whenever I hear people talk about social media being fake. Look at social media… it’s a novice compared to Nollywood. In the Nollywood movie industry… that’s where you find the fakest lifestyles and the fakest people. If you believe I’m part of them, that’s your opinion, and I respect that.

Why don’t you guys in Nollywood help yourselves? You see each other but you can’t extend a helping hand. Living fake lives, pretending to be someone you’re not. Who told you that you’re a celebrity, you who is trying to act like one? Have you ever gone to the market and caused a commotion or traffic because of your presence?

You all need to change your ways, there’s no love in Nollywood. Stop pretending. If you don’t like someone, be honest about it, don’t pretend”, he expressed in pidgin.

The resurfaced clip emerged shortly after Yoruba actress Motilola Akinlami bravely called out her senior colleague, Kunle Afod, and his wife, Desola Afod, for obstructing her career.

In a lengthy video, she poured out her grievances about the mistreatment she has endured from her fellow colleagues, attributing it to Kunle Afod’s interference. She recounted how Desola Afod defamed her on social media with baseless allegations.

Motilola pleaded with Kunle to cease defaming her character, as she no longer desired any association with him.

In a previous incident, Kiitan Bukola criticized an unnamed colleague for manipulating a movie producer against her. She recounted being rejected by a movie producer due to this colleague’s influence, though she did not disclose the individual’s identity.

Addressing her colleague, she urged her to cease being hypocritical and to express her true feelings rather than resorting to false displays of affection.
