Social media users are buzzing about an alleged incident involving Nollywood actress and box office powerhouse, Funke Akindele, reportedly pressuring media mogul Mo Abudu to remove Toyin Abraham from a movie.

According to an Instagram blogger known as Cutie Julls, Mo Abudu initially cast Toyin Abraham for the film “Chief Daddy” and even sent her payment and the script. However, Funke Akindele allegedly pressured Mo Abudu to replace Toyin Abraham with Kate Henshaw. It’s claimed that Mo Abudu complied with Funke’s demand, leading to Toyin Abraham’s replacement in the movie.

The relationship between Mo Abudu and Funke allegedly soured after Mo Abudu informed Beverly Osu about something Funke had said regarding the up-and-coming actress. This revelation supposedly led to a rift between Funke and Mo Abudu.

The blogger further alleged that Funke also tried to pressure Mo Abudu to remove Beverly Osu from a movie but was thwarted by the intervention of Joke Silva. According to the blogger, this situation nearly resulted in a physical altercation between Beverly and Funke after Beverly learned about the incident.

The blogger emphasized the importance of allowing people to earn their livelihood without personal conflicts interfering, noting that individuals don’t necessarily need to be close friends to work together effectively.

The enduring rivalry between screen icons Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele has been a well-known aspect of the entertainment industry for years. Both actresses have held sway on the TV screen for an extended period, maintaining their dominance to this day.

However, a significant turning point occurred last year when the two leading ladies reconciled. Toyin Abraham publicly celebrated Funke on her birthday, reciprocating the gesture. Additionally, Toyin attended Funke Akindele’s movie premiere, effectively dispelling rumors of any lingering animosity between the two acclaimed actresses.

Recently, Toyin took a further step by writing an open letter to Funke, addressing how fan conflicts had needlessly fueled their feud. She also congratulated Funke on her remarkable achievement of reaching the one billion mark in cinema. Funke responded to the post, extending her best wishes to Toyin.

However, the truce was short-lived as Toyin reignited their cinematic rivalry by teasing her upcoming project, a sequel to her popular movie, Alakada, scheduled for a December premiere. This move sparked debate among fans, with some observing parallels to Funke Akindele’s announcement just a week prior about a sequel to her hit movie, Jenifa.

In the midst of this, Toyin shared a cryptic post, acknowledging imperfection and the inevitability of mistakes. Nevertheless, she emphasized the importance of resilience, growth, and moving forward in life.
