The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, 17th, and Tuesday, 18th of a specified month as public holidays to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival. This announcement was made by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, on behalf of the government. The declaration was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, in Abuja.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to all Muslim Ummah, both within Nigeria and abroad, on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir. He encouraged them to embody the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice, following the example set by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
Furthermore, the minister urged Muslims to utilize this period for prayers aimed at fostering unity, prosperity, and stability across Nigeria. He assured the Nigerian populace that the administration of President Bola Tinubu remained dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and their property.
