Afrobeats star Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, has made a substantial donation of 105 million naira to Christ Embassy church in Benin, Edo State. The donation was made during a service on September 1, 2024, as a gesture of gratitude for the church’s support to his family following his father’s death.

Rema’s donation includes:

  • ₦40 million for church infrastructure
  • ₦20 million to Rhapsody of Realities
  • ₦25 million for the infrastructure of the teen’s church
  • ₦20 million to support widows in the church

The singer shared that the church played a crucial role in his family’s recovery after his father’s passing when the church helped his mother by opening a shop for her.

In addition to his donation, Rema is currently on a homecoming tour in Benin, where he will perform at a concert and has attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a 6,000-capacity Edo Arena named in his honor by Governor Godwin Obaseki.
