The Nigerian Police Force has intensified its investigation into the alleged involvement of foreign mercenaries and subversive elements in attempts to destabilize the country’s democratic processes.
On Monday, September 2, Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi declared British national Andrew Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey, wanted. The police have announced a ₦20 million bounty for information leading to the arrest of Wynne.
Wynne, along with Lucky Ehis Obinyan, faces serious charges including terrorism financing, treasonable felony, cybercrime, and criminal conspiracy.
A Special Police Gazette Bulletin, distributed to journalists at Force Headquarters, calls on the public to assist in capturing Wynne and Obinyan. The bulletin states, “If seen, arrest and hand over to the nearest Police, or call 08035179870, 09133333785, or 09133333786.”
A reward of ₦10 million is being offered for information leading to the capture of each suspect.
Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed that Wynne had been linked to a plot to overthrow Nigeria’s democratically elected government. He further revealed that Wynne had rented space at Labour House in Abuja for an ‘Iva Valley Bookshop’ and established ‘STARS of Nations Schools’ as a cover for his activities.
Evidence suggests that Wynne provided financial and operational support for the August protest aimed at regime change.
The police continue to intensify their investigation into the involvement of foreign mercenaries and subversive elements in efforts to destabilize Nigeria’s democratic processes.
