Legislation under Speaker Abbas aligns with democratic tenets – CSOs

The coalition of civil society organizations has applauded Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Hon. Kabiru Bichi for their exemplary leadership roles in the 10th National Assembly, particularly highlighting their contributions to legislation, oversight, and representation.

During a press conference held on Thursday, June 13, the Africa Centre for Human Rights and Justice, the Centre for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency (CESJET), and the Democracy Watch Foundation collectively praised Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for his legislative achievements. They noted his effective leadership in passing crucial bills, overseeing executive agencies, and advocating for the interests of constituents. They described Abbas as a visionary and transformative leader who has reshaped the legislative agenda to be more responsive to societal needs.

Regarding Hon. Kabiru Bichi, who serves as chairman of the Appropriations Committee, the coalition highlighted his innovative approach to the budgetary process.
