Lagosians should expect afternoon and evening rains for the next 3 days

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorms and cloudiness across various parts of the country from Tuesday to Thursday. The weather outlook, released on Monday in Abuja, highlights the following predictions:

**Tuesday:**
– **Morning:** Thunderstorms in Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, and Gombe states.
– **Afternoon/Evening:** Thunderstorms in Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kano, Bauchi, Katsina, and Taraba states. Partly cloudy conditions in central regions with thunderstorms expected later in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Plateau, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, and Kwara states. Cloudy skies in southern regions with afternoon/evening rains expected in Ondo, Edo, Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Ekiti, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, and Lagos states.

**Wednesday:**
– **Morning:** Thunderstorms in Taraba, Adamawa, and Kebbi states.
– **Afternoon/Evening:** Thunderstorms in Taraba, Adamawa, Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Gombe, Bauchi, and Kaduna states. Morning thunderstorms in Kwara and Kogi states with later storms in the FCT, Plateau, and Nasarawa states. Morning rains in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Bayelsa states, extending to most parts of the southern region later in the day.

**Thursday:**
– **Morning:** Thunderstorms in Taraba state.
– **Afternoon/Evening:** Thunderstorms in Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Katsina, and Kano states, with further storms expected in the FCT, Plateau, Kogi, and Nasarawa states. Cloudy skies in the southern region with rains expected throughout the day.

NiMet advises the public to take adequate precautions as strong winds may precede the rains in areas with thunderstorms. Airline operators are particularly advised to stay updated with weather reports and forecasts for effective planning.
