Content creator Njeri Mbugua is gearing up to make history with an ambitious attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest barbecue marathon by an individual. The current record stands at an impressive 80 hours, set by Jan Greeff in Columbus, Georgia, USA, back in April 2014. Greeff’s achievement involved an extensive menu including 1,000 hotdogs, 200 pieces of corn, 104 pieces of chicken, 558 burgers, and 526 boerewors (South African sausage).

Njeri Mbugua’s upcoming challenge will span seven days of continuous barbecuing, surpassing the existing record. She expressed her excitement and determination in a statement on her social media platforms, highlighting her readiness to take on this demanding feat.

Beyond personal accomplishment, Njeri’s marathon aims to raise funds and awareness for a domestic violence and sexual assault shelter for women in Kenya. This dual purpose underscores her commitment not only to breaking records but also to making a positive impact on society.

“Nyama choma is our thing,” Njeri proudly emphasized, emphasizing the cultural significance of barbecue in Kenya. Her initiative is expected to draw considerable support from local communities, who are eager to witness history while supporting a worthy cause.

As details about the venue and schedule for the challenge are finalized, Njeri has called on her supporters to join her in this monumental endeavor, ensuring that her efforts will resonate far beyond the barbecue pit.
