Katsina State Hisbah Board shuts down hotel for lodging underage girls

< 1 mn read

The Katsina State Hisbah Board has shut down the New Palace Hotel in the metropolis for allegedly corrupting the morals of underage girls. The closure followed the discovery that the hotel violated an agreement with hoteliers across the state by lodging two underage girls in the same room. This incident marked the second time the hotel committed such an offense, despite previous warnings and promises from its management to prevent such occurrences.

Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), the Hisbah Commander General, confirmed the closure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He emphasized that the decision to shut down the hotel was made due to its repeated failure to comply with Hisbah regulations and to uphold the agreed conditions set during a collaborative meeting with hotel managers. Usman reiterated the board’s commitment to enforcing reforms and instilling discipline in line with the state’s religious and cultural values to ensure lasting peace.
