The Kano State Fire Service successfully saved three lives and protected property worth ₦102.9 million from 21 fire incidents that occurred in August. This was disclosed by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kano.
Despite these efforts, the fire incidents led to the unfortunate loss of three lives, and property valued at ₦47.8 million was destroyed during the same period. The Fire Service responded to 11 emergency calls, with no false alarms reported.
Abdullahi urged the public to exercise caution when handling fire, and to ensure that electrical appliances, gas, and generators are turned off before leaving their homes to prevent further incidents.
