In the latest episode of her podcast, MeSsy, the actress admitted that she felt sore and tired, struggling with simple everyday activities that she once performed automatically.
“I am now trapped in a darkness that I haven’t felt in probably 20-something years. I don’t enjoy life anymore. I don’t enjoy anything,” Applegate revealed.
Despite this, the actress decided to contact a therapist and arrange a meeting, which she described as her small success. Applegate admitted that she had been afraid of therapy since her diagnosis for fear of her reaction and uncontrollable crying.

In 2008, the actress was diagnosed with breast cancer. This prompted her to actively fight cancer. She established the Right Action for Women organisation, which educates about the dangers of breast cancer and the necessary prevention.The diagnosis of multiple sclerosis was made in 2021, but Applegate believes she had the disease for many years before that.
