Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has revoked the contract for a five-kilometre road construction project in Garko Local Government Area (LGA) due to the contractor’s failure to mobilize to the site.

In a statement from the Director-General of Media and Publicity, Sanusi Tofa, it was announced that the governor will appoint a new, reliable contractor within the coming days to ensure the project’s completion. Governor Yusuf also expressed his commitment to establishing a modern health facility in Garko Town to improve healthcare services in the area.
OTHER INITIATIVES
Governor Yusuf recently conducted an on-site assessment of the Kafinchiri Irrigation Project, part of the state’s agricultural transformation drive. Valued at ₦2.5 billion, the project aims to support year-round farming, enhance food security, and drive economic growth in Kano State. The governor urged local residents to leverage the project’s opportunities to boost their socio-economic conditions and contribute to the state’s development.
