Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has inaugurated new caretaker chairmen for 23 local government areas on Wednesday, June 19. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Government House in Port Harcourt under heavy security. This event followed the submission of the list of nominees to the Rivers State House of Assembly the previous day, where the nominees were screened starting at 8 am on June 19. The first group of 11 chairmen took their oaths of office during the ceremony.
