FLOOD DISPLACES 3,633 PEOPLE, DAMAGES HOUSES IN KADUNA, MANY STILL MISSING

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has reported that flooding has displaced at least 3,633 individuals from five communities in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The affected areas include Fadan Tsoho, Zonzon, Zangon Kataf, Unguwan Wakili, and Zonkwa. The flood, which occurred on August 25, has caused significant damage, with many houses submerged and valuable household items ruined. The assessment team also noted the loss of farmlands and livestock, including sheep and goats, with many animals still missing. NEMA’s Northwest Zonal Coordinator, Imam Garki, assured that efforts would be made to assist the displaced victims and address the damage caused by the flooding.
