Vice-President Kashim Shettima announced that the Federal Government’s healthcare reforms have successfully drawn in over $4.8 billion in potential investments.

During the commissioning of Sahad Hospitals in Abuja, Shettima presented a comprehensive strategy aimed at addressing the longstanding challenges in Nigeria’s healthcare system and advancing it into the future. He underscored the need for unity within the health sector, stating, “Our health sector calls upon us all to unite. The promise of this day is one we cannot overlook.”

Shettima reaffirmed the government’s commitment to revitalizing the healthcare system, with reforms built on a solid roadmap designed to address persistent issues. He acknowledged the ongoing challenges, including rising medicine costs, long hospital wait times, and a shortage of healthcare workers, and emphasized the critical role of private sector involvement in enhancing access to quality healthcare.

He also commended the Chairman and Founder of Sahad Group of Companies, Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa, for his significant contributions to healthcare and his dedication to improving lives through his business ventures.

Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, described the establishment of Sahad Hospital as a new chapter in Nigerian healthcare. He highlighted that the hospital exemplifies the impact that public-spirited individuals can have on the nation’s health when they invest in their fellow citizens.

Vice Chairman of Sahad Hospital, Dr. Shamsuddeen Aliyu, emphasized that the hospital is not just a physical structure but a symbol of their vision for a healthier future, where everyone has access to comprehensive and compassionate care. The facility boasts a 200-bed capacity, seven operating theatres, 13 dialysis machines, and 10-bed ICU units, showcasing their commitment to providing top-notch healthcare.
