The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) is set to release a comprehensive list of institutions that have successfully submitted student data to its Student Verification System (SVS) portal. This announcement, scheduled for June 24, 2024, aims to promote transparency and accessibility within the student loan scheme.
According to Mr. Nasir Ayitogo, Head of Media and Public Relations at NELFUND, both federal and state-owned tertiary institutions will be included in this list. The initiative ensures that undergraduate applicants can verify their eligibility for the loan fund through the SVS. Federal institutions have reportedly completed their data submissions, with state institutions currently in the process.
NELFUND emphasizes the importance of accurate data submission by institutions to facilitate seamless applicant verification. Essential details such as JAMB numbers, matriculation numbers, admission numbers, full names, and dates of birth must align for successful evaluation and eligibility determination.
Applicants are urged to input their information correctly during the application process and ensure accuracy in their email addresses. Failure to undergo the verification process via SVS may result in application disqualification, underscoring the necessity of thorough data handling by educational institutions.
The fund expresses satisfaction with the cooperation received from both federal and state tertiary institutions nationwide, highlighting their commitment to enhancing access to educational financing through diligent data management practices.
