EPL: Nottingham Forest’s four-point deduction stands following unsuccessful appeal

Nottingham Forest are unsuccessful after their appeal against a four-point deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

The deduction was imposed in March after Forest admitted overspending by £34.5 million over a three-year period.

However, it was reduced from a potential six points due to the club’s “excellent cooperation,” according to the independent commission monitoring the rule .

Currently, Forest sit three points above the relegation zone with only two games remaining in the season.

Meanwhile, the club are yet to release an official statement regarding the outcome of their appeal.

In a previous response to the initial deduction, Forest criticized the Premier League’s submissions to the commission, expressing dismay at the tone and content.

Forest face Chelsea at home and Burnley away in their final two games of the season, hoping to secure their status in the league.
