Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has addressed the speculation surrounding Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, who has emerged as a potential target for the Blues. In a pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League play-off second leg against Servette, Maresca shared his thoughts on the transfer rumors.
Maresca acknowledged his familiarity with Sancho, having known him for many years from his time at Manchester City. However, he emphasized that Sancho is currently not a Chelsea player and expressed a cautious stance on signing players solely for the sake of signing.
Maresca stated:
“I said that if we have to sign a player just for signing, I don’t want. But if we can sign a player who can help us, for sure I want. Jadon is not our player. I know Jadon very well from many years with City. I know him very well. But he’s not our player. We’ll see what happens.”
Sancho is rumored to be on the move to Juventus this summer, with a potential permanent transfer to Chelsea lined up for next summer.
