Malam Shehu Mohammed, the FRSC Corps Marshal, stressed the Corps’ commitment to prosecuting drivers whose actions lead to road traffic crashes in Nigeria. He specifically mentioned that the driver responsible for the Ugwu Onyeama crash would face prosecution without exception. He called upon the judiciary, transport unions’ leadership, and other relevant stakeholders in the road transportation sector to collaborate closely with the FRSC in ensuring that traffic violators, especially those causing accidents, face expedited and effective legal proceedings.
The FRSC has been proactive in addressing road safety concerns and advocating for moral and ethical responsibilities among road users to prevent such avoidable tragedies. The agency remains resolute in its efforts to enforce traffic regulations and hold accountable those whose negligence results in loss of lives and damage to property on Nigerian roads.
