“Bruno Labbadia Reverses Decision to Coach Nigeria’s Super Eagles Amid Contract Dispute”
Bruno Labbadia has decided against taking the role of head coach for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, according to reports. Despite the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announcing his appointment earlier this week, Labbadia has now declined the position. The change of heart follows a failure to finalize a contractual agreement between the NFF and the 58-year-old German coach.
Originally, Labbadia was slated to lead the Super Eagles through the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Benin Republic and Rwanda. With his withdrawal, NFF’s technical director, Austin Eguavoen, is now expected to oversee the team for these crucial matches.
