Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has addressed Nigerians, clarifying that her recent outbursts are not indicative of a mental breakdown.
In the past few days, the actress has been publicly criticizing her colleagues, including Mercy Johnson and Zubby Michael. This led many to speculate about her mental well-being.
On her Instagram story, Angela expressed frustration at how her words were being misconstrued as signs of madness. She highlighted the irony of photoshopped images depicting her alongside Mercy Johnson and Zubby Michael, likening them to individuals with mental illness.
Angela accused her detractors of seeking to defame her character and disrupt her truth. She admonished Zubby and Mercy to cease their attempts to tarnish her reputation, warning them that this is only the beginning of her response.
In her words, “If you go to Facebook and some of these social media platforms, you’ll see outrageous claims about people’s parents having mental health issues. Imagine. They are twisting my words into madness, despicable individuals. Even the photos of me merged with theirs, Zubby M and Mercy, make them appear more deranged. You people, all you know is destruction, just like the devil. Keep funding campaigns to smear my name despite my warnings for you to leave me be. This is just the start.”
Recall that after the passing of Junior Pope, Angela Okorie publicly criticized Zubby for not publicly mourning his former best friend. She accused Zubby of relentlessly striving to be the top figure in the industry, and she didn’t hold back in slamming his appearance at the funeral, suggesting it was more for show than genuine grief. Angela even went as far as comparing his attire to that of occultists and criticized his monetary gifts to the family.
Angela didn’t spare Mercy Johnson either, declaring it was time for her to be held accountable. She accused both Mercy and her mother of practicing witchcraft. Later, in an Instagram Live session with Mercy Johnson’s former close friend, allegations of witchcraft were thrown, with claims suggesting Mercy was complicit in Nollywood-related deaths and had supposedly manipulated the destinies of Style Plus, a famous music group, and her fellow actors.
Addressing her critics, Angela stood firm, asserting that numerous individuals were reaching out to her with information exposing Mercy. However, neither Zubby Michael nor Mercy Johnson have responded to her accusations.
