The management of Topfaith Schools in Mkpatak, Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom, has awarded Master Emmanuel Zekhome a cash prize of ₦1.5 million for being the top scorer in the 2024 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Dr. Emmanuel Abraham, Chairman of Topfaith Schools, announced the award in Uyo, stating that the top scholar award was created to encourage hard work and academic excellence. He praised Zekhome’s performance as “brilliant and outstanding” and emphasized that the award is part of the school’s commitment to fostering academic discipline and intellectual development.
Abraham highlighted that out of the 193 students who took the SSCE, 40 achieved high grades, with three students earning ‘A’s in eight subjects and nine others securing ‘A’s in seven subjects.
“Our philosophy is to always aspire to be on top because our faith is top,” Abraham said, underscoring the school’s dedication to excellence.
He urged parents and guardians to remain committed to instilling discipline and a strong work ethic in their children, emphasizing that success requires effort and hard work.
