AGN holds candlelight service for late Nollywood veterans Mr Ibu, others in FCT

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) organized a candlelight procession to honor the late Nollywood actors John Okafor, popularly known as ‘Mr Ibu’, Amaechi Muonagor, and Zulu Adigwe. The event took place on Monday night at the Unity Fountain in Abuja, drawing together thespians, fans, and friends of the deceased.

Led by AGN National President Emeka Rollas, the procession included prominent actors like Kenneth Okonkwo, Zack Orji, and Sidney Idiala. The attendees paid heartfelt tributes to the contributions of the late actors to the Nigerian film industry.

Mercy Salma, FCT mayor of AGN, emphasized the importance of celebrating the legacies of these actors who brought joy to many. Emeka Rollas highlighted the solidarity within the guild and the opportunity the event provided to reflect on the late actors’ impact and how they wish to be remembered.

Kenneth Okonkwo urged young artists to focus on passion and value delivery rather than seeking quick monetary gains. He acknowledged the late actors’ dedication and their significant contributions to the growth and development of Nollywood.

The event concluded with prayers for the departed souls, the Nollywood industry, and Nigeria.
