< 1 mn read

“Retired police officers across Nigeria converged in Abuja to protest against the non-payment of several months’ worth of pensions under the contributory pension scheme.

The demonstration, captured in a video shared on Channels TV’s platform, showcased retirees from various state chapters brandishing placards and chanting slogans demanding their rightful entitlements.

The retirees voiced their frustration with the Nigerian Pension Commission (PENCOM), citing hardships endured by members due to delayed payments. Central to their demands is an exemption from the contributory pension scheme, urging the Federal Government to intervene and address their grievances.”
