Chelsea are preparing to loan out Ben Chilwell to Fenerbahçe, managed by José Mourinho, according to The Telegraph. The move comes after new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca deemed Chilwell surplus to requirements earlier in the summer.
Despite efforts to secure a transfer before the close of the transfer window, Chilwell remained at Chelsea as the deadline passed. With the Turkish transfer window open until September 18, Fenerbahçe is now a viable destination for him.
If Chilwell cannot finalize the move to Turkey, he will be required to train away from Chelsea’s first-team squad for at least four months. He would then need to wait until the January transfer window to secure a potential move or reintegrate with Chelsea’s squad.
