Super Falcons Begin Olympic Quest Against Brazil in Paris 2024 Opener

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will kick off their pursuit of an Olympic medal at the Paris 2024 Games with a Group C match against Brazil today at the Matmut Atlantique Stadium in Bordeaux. The match, set to start at 6pm, marks Nigeria’s return to the Olympics after a 16-year absence. This will be the third encounter between the two teams, with Brazil winning their previous meetings. The Brazilian squad, led by legendary forward Marta, will present a formidable challenge for Nigeria, who will also face Spain and Japan in their group. The Super Falcons, managed by Randy Waldrum, head into the tournament following a 1-0 defeat to Canada in their final pre-Olympics friendly.
