Crawley Town Defender Benjamin Tanimu Replaces Injured Osayi-Samuel in Nigeria’s AFCON Qualifiers Squad.
Crawley Town defender Benjamin Tanimu has been called up to replace the injured Bright Osayi-Samuel in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda. Osayi-Samuel, who plays for Fenerbahce, withdrew from the fixtures due to injury. Tanimu received a late call-up from caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen and arrived at the team’s base in Uyo on Tuesday. The 22-year-old, who recently joined Crawley Town from Bendel Insurance, will participate in the squad’s first training session later tonight.
