The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has recently been recognized for its impressive performance in service delivery and compliance. According to the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) Secretariat’s 2024 Half Year Transparency and Efficiency Compliance Report, SON secured second place with a score of 78.2%. This ranking highlights SON’s effective adherence to procedures and commitment to delivering public services efficiently.

The Efficiency Compliance Ranking evaluates Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) based on various criteria, including Service Level Agreements (SLAs), cost management, procedural efficiency, and adherence to directives under the Business Facilitation Act 2022. The report indicates a notable improvement in overall performance, with over 60% of MDAs scoring above average, up from just 30% in the previous report.

The top three performers in this report are:
1. Nigerian Content Development Management Board (NCDMB) – 80.1%
2. Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) – 78.2%
3. Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) – 74.8%

SON’s Director General, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, expressed the organization’s dedication to maintaining and improving service efficiency for the benefit of the country. This recognition underscores SON’s role in enhancing public service delivery amidst ongoing bureaucratic challenges.
