“NPFL Appoints Shooting Stars Chairman Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro to Board”

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has confirmed the appointment of Shooting Stars chairman Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro to its board, as announced by NPFL secretary Danladi Ibrahim. Akoro steps into the role previously held by Abdullahi Umar of Doma United, who left after his club’s relegation. The NPFL is optimistic about Akoro’s vision and expertise in advancing the league. Notably, Akoro, who is also a former deputy speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and a retired referee, led Shooting Stars to a fourth-place finish in the recent NPFL season.
