Akoro steps into the role previously held by Abdullahi Umar of Doma United, who left after his club’s relegation. The NPFL is optimistic about Akoro’s vision and expertise in advancing the league. Notably, Akoro, who is also a former deputy speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and a retired referee, led Shooting Stars to a fourth-place finish in the recent NPFL season.
