The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Special Forces have successfully eliminated Mustapha Abdullahi, a notorious terrorist kingpin, along with five members of his group in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
In a statement released on Sunday, Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, AVM Edward Gabkwet, detailed that the special forces, deployed from the 413 Force Protection Group, acted on intelligence received on August 31. The report indicated that Abdullahi and his group were spotted near Sabon Gida forest along Sabon Birni Road, with intentions likely including kidnapping, harming, or killing civilians.
Upon encountering the terrorists, who were armed and on motorcycles, the Special Forces were met with gunfire but responded with superior firepower. All the terrorists were eliminated, and the troops recovered five Dane guns, a locally fabricated sub-machine gun, live ammunition, assorted charms, lighters, SIM cards, and cell phone cases.
The ongoing efforts to clear Igabi, Birnin Gwari, and surrounding areas of criminal activities continue, with the troops commended and encouraged to further their efforts to protect lives and property.
