The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized President Bola Tinubu for his silence during the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests.

Starting on Thursday and continuing through Friday, Nigerians have been protesting across the country, calling for an end to hunger and poor governance.

In a statement issued on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP urged Tinubu to address the nation promptly and address the urgent concerns affecting citizens.

The statement read in part: “The PDP demands that President Tinubu immediately address Nigerians regarding urgent measures to lower petroleum prices, stabilize the Naira, and ensure prompt food distribution, among other critical issues. These actions are necessary to revitalize the productive sector, boost employment, and restore political stability.”

“Our Party is concerned that President Tinubu’s silence is sending a dangerous message and increasing public anxiety, suggesting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government is indifferent to the citizens’ distress and the dire state of the nation.”

“It is alarming that President Tinubu remains silent while Nigerians are protesting in the streets for good governance, protection, security, and welfare—fundamental functions of government.”

“The international community is watching in horror as APC-controlled security forces assault, shoot, and kill unarmed protesters, with alleged APC-backed thugs also committing violence against innocent Nigerians.”
