In a recent interview with Beats FM 99.9, Ruger opened up about his new singles ‘Luv Again’ and ‘Make Way’, as well as the resolution of his beef with BNXN (formerly known as Buju).
Ruger acknowledged that the beef with BNXN was largely fueled by fan comparisons, which although entertaining to the audience, had negative implications for their relationship. He highlighted how these comparisons can detract from the focus on creating good music together. Ruger expressed relief that they were able to move past these comparisons and focus on collaborating on music that both artists are proud of.
“We looked beyond that (the comparisons) and asked ‘How can we push good music together?’ Because there’s a lot of distractions now in the music space,” Ruger explained, referring to their decision to collaborate on the joint EP ‘RnB’.
Regarding his new singles, Ruger described ‘Luv Again’ as a song reflecting his openness to love again, with the flexibility to switch emotions as necessary. He also shared insights into his personal life, mentioning that while he finds it easy to fall in love, he’s currently single due to his upcoming European tour commitments.
Ruger’s perspective on moving beyond beef and focusing on musical collaboration underscores his commitment to producing quality music and maintaining positive relationships within the Nigerian music industry.
