manchester United have ceased their pursuit of former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino and removed him from their managerial shortlist, as the club remain undecided about Erik ten Hag’s future.

After a disappointing season in both the Premier League and the Champions League, Man United managed to end on a high note by winning the FA Cup, bolstering Ten Hag’s position.

Despite reports suggesting that Ten Hag would be dismissed regardless of the FA Cup result, he remains in a state of uncertainty while the club’s revamped hierarchy reviews the season.

Several high-profile managers, including Gareth Southgate, Roberto De Zerbi, Zinedine Zidane, Kieran McKenna, Thomas Tuchel, and Pochettino, have been considered as potential replacements for Ten Hag.
However, this list has been narrowing, with Pochettino being the most recent exclusion, according to The Times.

The report added that the 52-year-old, who recently parted ways with Chelsea by mutual consent, is now ‘out of the frame’ for the Old Trafford position.

Pochettino had been on INEOS’ initial shortlist and held discussions with United officials as part of the club’s annual review process.
