Democracy Day: Federal Government declares Wednesday a public holiday

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to implementing positive reforms aimed at revitalizing the nation’s economy and improving security. The Federal Government has announced that Wednesday, June 12, 2024, will be a public holiday to celebrate Democracy Day. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians on behalf of the Federal Government on this occasion.

“As we mark another Democracy Day in the history of our dear country, let us all reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secure, peaceful, and indivisible entity,” he said. He encouraged Nigerians to stay committed to the principles of democratic governance and to recognize the advancements that have been made, remaining hopeful for a brighter future for Nigeria’s democracy.

Tunji-Ojo extended his best wishes to Nigerians for a joyful Democracy Day celebration.
