The initiative is part of the Representative’s ongoing efforts to enhance the health and welfare of his constituents. Representative Daniel Amos (APC-Kaduna) has sponsored breast and cervical cancer screenings for no fewer than 2,000 women and girls in his constituency, the Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The screening event was preceded by a road walk in Kafanchan aimed at raising awareness about breast and cervical cancer. Speaking at the event, Representative Amos stated that the initiative is a continuation of his committed endeavors to enhance the health and welfare of his constituents, particularly women and girls.

“I am dedicated to addressing issues related to the health and well-being of the members of my constituency, particularly women and girls. Good health is crucial because it enables individuals to carry out tasks for themselves and others effectively,” he emphasized.

Encouraging women not to view cancer as a death sentence, the lawmaker assured that all detected cases not in an advanced stage would be treated. Earlier, Rahap Elisha, the leader of the screening team, highlighted the campaign’s purpose: to raise awareness and encourage young girls to undergo screenings for early detection, a vital factor for survival.

In her remarks, Phoebe Yayi, the Commissioner of Kafanchan Municipal Authority, commended Representative Amos for the significant initiative and called on other individuals and organizations to follow suit.
