Global financial broker Octa, in partnership with the humanitarian organization Keeping It Real (KIR) Foundation, celebrated Ramadan by implementing a charity initiative with three components.
First, they provided essential educational supplies, including writing materials, dictionaries, and school bags, to 300 children in economically disadvantaged areas in Nigeria.
Second, Octa and KIR offered tech skills training in areas such as data science, cybersecurity, digital marketing, and graphic design to 25 unemployed or underemployed youth. This initiative builds on a similar project implemented in 2022 that significantly impacted participants’ lives.
Lastly, the partnership established another ‘Reading Corner’ – mini libraries set up in underdeveloped city areas or public primary schools. So far, Octa and KIR have created 24 Reading Corners throughout 14 Nigerian states, providing 9,209 children with access to 3,763 books. This project aims to improve literacy skills and foster a lifelong love of reading among children.
Both organizations expressed their commitment to promoting accessible education and driving social development. Their efforts in this charity project reflect their dedication to improving lives and supporting local communities through education and humanitarian initiatives.
