Phyna, the winner of BBNaija 2022, has become a hot topic online after breaking down in tears and revealing that the reality show still owes him $1BTC, equivalent to over N100 million.
In a circulating video, Phyna expressed his frustration, stating that despite winning the reality show, he still feels like he hasn’t received anything substantial from it.
In a previous video, Phyna mentioned that out of the N100 million he won, he only received N50 million, while the remaining N50 million worth of gifts promised by the show’s sponsors have not been delivered since 2022. In an official statement posted on his verified Instagram page on April 8th, 2024, Phyna listed the outstanding gifts, including 1 BTC from Quidax Global, a year’s supply of Pepsi products from Seven-Up Bottling Company (Pepsi), a trip for two to Dubai from Travelbeta, and a year’s supply of soap products from Evans Industries (Unik Soap).
However, Phyna stated in the new video that he has received all these gifts after calling them out, except for the 1BTC, which now amounts to over N100 million.
Expressing his distress, Phyna appealed to Nigerians for assistance, claiming that Big Brother Naija still owes him the $1BTC prize money and has refused to release it, challenging him to take legal action. He lamented how this situation has tarnished his brand and image, portraying him as a troublesome and nuisance individual since winning the show in 2022. Phyna emphasized that he feels set up for failure by Big Brother Naija and is determined to seek justice.
