Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has finally revealed why she took a break from the movie industry. According to Kemi Filani, last year, Mosun announced her return to acting after many years away from the screen. In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, she explained that she prioritized her children over her career, leading to her hiatus.
Mosun shared that she decided to pause her acting career to focus on her children’s growth, noting how quickly time passes. She emphasized that business was never her priority. She highlighted that once a child enters university, they are no longer under their parents’ direct care, so she wanted to ensure her kids were well-raised, especially given the current social media environment.
“Business was not my priority. I decided to take that break. I took a long break for the kids to grow up. For how long do they stay with us? When a child is in the university, he or she is no longer under the parents’ care, take it or leave it. So, how many years do you have to spend with your children? To train them?
Some people are even alleging that they are the ones releasing their sex tapes, just to gain followers. Let there be a scandalous post about anyone and see the massive growth that will happen to his/her Instagram page. That aspect bothers me a lot.”

Her husband’s political ambitions influenced her decision to quit acting, as she needed to project a certain lifestyle that did not include acting. After he did not win any elections, she focused on her beauty business and caring for her family.
Speaking out, Mosun Filani revealed that she took a break from Nollywood to concentrate on her family and children.
