Veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji has refuted a circulating claim suggesting that he hails from Gabon instead of Nigeria. The renowned actor dismissed those spreading the falsehood, labeling them as liars and asserting that divine retribution awaits them.
According to reports, a podcast video surfaced on Monday, purportedly showing Orji disclosing his birth in Gabon due to his father’s job, which involved extensive travel to various countries. Despite being born in Gabon, Orji clarified that he does not belong to the Central African nation, contrary to what some individuals are propagating.
He emphasized that both his parents are Nigerian, and he takes pride in his Nigerian identity, particularly hailing from Enugu State. Orji vehemently distanced himself from the misinformation, emphasizing his unwavering allegiance to Nigeria and its heritage.
“I hereby disavow any association with that falsehood. I am unequivocally Nigerian, with both my parents being Nigerian. I hail from Enugu State, the Coal City State. I am a staunch Nigerian, deeply proud of my Nigerian roots. Divine justice will be meted out to whoever originated that falsehood as deemed appropriate,” Orji stated in a Tuesday statement.
